The Chinese vendor Realme surpassed Apple and Samsung in terms of smartphone sales in Russia, according to the MTS report. In top sales in monetary terms — Xiaomi and Poco with a share of 35%. Direct import of Apple and Samsung smartphones is completely stopped, and the parallel one does not work in the necessary volume for replacement.
Chinese vendor Realme took second place in terms of smartphone sales in Stucco with a share of 17%, Kommersant reports with reference to the MTS report. For comparison: in June, Realme’s share was at the level of 13.4%. Xiaomi leads: its share together with the Poco sub-brand reached 42%.
Apple and Samsung accounted for 7% and 8.5%, respectively. Last month, the companies’ sales of smartphones in stucco in Russia were higher: at Apple — 9.7%, at Samsung — 10.9%.
In monetary terms, the situation is similar. According to MTS data, in first place is Xiaomi and Poco with a share of 35%, in second place – Apple with 25%, in third place – Realme with 12.5%. They are followed by Samsung with 11%, and Tecno closes the top five with a share of 4%.
The direct import of Apple and Samsung smartphones has been completely stopped, and the parallel one does not work in the volume necessary for replacement, therefore the stocks of devices at retailers are running out, explained executive director of diHouse Andrey Tarasov. By his own estimation, shipments of American and Korean smartphones are down 80-90% compared to the beginning of the year.
At the end of July, telecommunications operators recorded the largest drop in sales of new smartphones in five years. One of the “Vedomosti” sources estimated the sales of new devices as “the lowest for a decade”, and in monetary terms the drop reached “the level of the pandemic year 2020”.
