The organisers of the Black Country's biggest fireworks display are appealing for people to donate unwanted wooden pallets to build the huge bonfire. The popular fireworks and bonfire event in Himley Park, near Dudley, will take place on Saturday, November 5.

Bosses are appealing for help from local companies who can donate unbroken wooden pallets to build the giant bonfire for this year's event.

Run in association with Whittaker Bros Ltd and sponsored by Heart 100.7, the show will entertain audiences with this year's pyrotechnic show to an 'Around the World in 80 Days' theme. The event will also include a night market, street entertainers, seasonal refreshments and a huge funfair will also be in the park.

Councillor Shaun Keasey, cabinet member for commercialisation and HR at Dudley Council, said: "As autumn rolls around we know people will be turning their thoughts to Bonfire night and we cannot wait to welcome families back to the park for our incredible annual event.

"We are lucky to be tremendously supported by local companies that donate huge numbers of pallets and we’re calling on local businesses to help us again this year. Anyone who can help is urged to get in touch as soon as possible."

Pallets cannot be collected but deliveries are accepted at Himley Hall. Only full pallets can be accepted – fence panels, trees, branches and other wood are not suitable. Deliveries need to be booked in with the team by calling 01384 817834 or 01384 917822.

Limited tickets for the premium viewing area are available online. The area is next to the hall on the south lawns and has an elevated view of the park and lake. Food and drink vendors, including alcoholic beverages, will also be available in this area.

Standard tickets will include access to the main park area - where alcohol will not be on sale - night mark and funfair. To buy tickets or for more information, visit www.himleyhallandpark.co.uk/bonfire-tickets.
