One of the United States’ largest suppliers of residential fencing products is boosting its footprint in the form of a new facility in North Carolina.
Eastern Wholesale Fence, which makes and distributes fence products, is investing $17.5 million to establish a manufacturing center of excellence in Salisbury, where the company will distribute vinyl, ornamental, chain link, wood, and decorative fencing materials for the eastern U.S.
A press release from the Rowan County Economic Development Commission said the project involves Eastern Wholesale Fence investing the funds in equipment and improvements to its new manufacturing and distribution facility in Salisbury. The investment will create 142 jobs that consist of engineers, technicians, operators, managers, and administrative support staff.
The project is partly financed by a 12-year grant approved by North Carolina’s Economic Investment Committee. According to AreaDevelopment.com, the new facility will add $288 million to the state’s economy over the length of the grant.
Selling only through wholesale to trade customers, Eastern Wholesale Fence was founded in 1971 and is based in Medford, New York. It was privately acquired by Corinthian Capital Group in 2017.
